Consecutive stay in Israel before joining the MAHAL track – in a recognized learning program (such as a university course or a yeshiva etc.): up to 18 months. In an unrecognized learning program: up to 12 months.

In case of a longer stay in Israel and enlisting without receiving citizenship, the length of the service will be determined based on the age at the time of arriving in Israel.

The MAHAL 2000 program is considered part of the 12 consecutive months count until the date of going into service.

A non-consecutive stay in Israel allows you to serve in the MAHAL track.

A volunteer who already has a recruitment date should apply to the Ministry of Defense and ask for a postponement of his recruitment.

A condition of the recruitment is a letter from the Interior Ministry stating they see no reason to prevent the recruitment.
